I am continually impressed by both the quality and delicacy that Morel books brings to the photobook world. One of my favorite objects of the last year was Ed Templeton's
Drinking the Kool-Aid, not necessarily because of the images (although you can never go wrong with Ed Templeton) but more so because of the book design. The same can be said for
Wrong by
Asger Carlsen.... however, the cohesive vision of Carlsen's imagery is truly stunning.
Another 2010 title published by Morel was a sweet little surprise. Aurora Borealis by Agnes Thor is an ephemeral journey offering an exquisite series of images that weaves a poetic and timeless scenario. And while the imagery is staggering, so is the book design. Aurora Borealis is 3-hole stitch bound with a debossed light pink cotton cover. The endpapers are also a debossed light pink cotton adding a nice touch to an overall beautifully crafted book.
