Dog and Mesh Tights — SIGNED
Photographs by Daido Moriyama
“The title of this book, Dog and Mesh Tights, came to me suddenly one day recently as I was walking through the streets of the Ikebukuro district of Tokyo. Most of the subjects depicted here are those that I spotted on the streets, on the exterior walls of buildings or lying in the gutter during the course of my everyday life, things that tend to remain unnoticed, obscure corners of largely deserted back alleys, or human figures that linger inconspicuously - things that catch my eye but generally remain unremarked. In a way I think they can be said to resemble the world as ween through the eye of a dog.” — Daido Moriyama

"On the fundamental question, 'Why landscapes?' I can’t offer more than a lighthearted answer referring to my desire to work outside, my hobby of traveling, and the fact that a landscape is for me the ideal environment for relaxed working without being disturbed."

Photographs by Nobuyoshi Araki
The title Erotos is a term that Nobuyoshi Araki coined to express an image in which "Eros" and "Thanatos" harmoniously blend together. For these ambitiously provocative photographs, Araki used a macro lens and ring strobe flash to shoot his subjects at the closest possible range, which is probably, his ultimate interpretation of "still life."
