Congratulations to photo-eye Gallery artist Jamey Stillings, whose book
The Bridge At Hoover Dam published in 2011 by Nazraeli Press, has been honored with the 2013 Gold Quill Award by International Association of Business Communicators. "Designed to reflect the immense size and grandeur of the bridge itself, the oversized, hardcover monograph, features 60 museum-quality color photographs by renowned American photographer, Jamey Stillings. Along with Stillings’ breathtaking images, the book also includes essays by TYLI chief bridge engineer, David Goodyear, in which he describes the design process and engineering solutions developed for the iconic bridge," says the press release. Photographer's Showcase artist David Wolf will be exhibiting work from his
Nurturing Time, Life in a Backyard Garden series at
Corden|Potts Gallery in San Francisco on June 6th, 2013. This show will the first full-scale exhibition of this series that "envelop[es] the viewer in the garden environment." Wolf's work on the Photographer's Showcase is a series of architectural images that "delight in the sheer physicality of architecture... suggest[ing] its very impermanence" through undefined edges. The images are both eerie and beautiful, and can be seen on the Photographer's Showcase
