The fourth in Chad States' Trade series, the Winter Edition presents an intimate collection of 25 loose photographs collected by the artist on smart phone cruising applications. Using his own pictures to trade for the images that make up this collection, States brings photographs that were intended only to be viewed privately on the glowing screen of a smart phone into the real world. The photographs show scantily clad men in erotic poses, which can alternately be fun, titillating and uncomfortable. The examples of sexualized self-presentation show strength, playfulness and a bit of vulnerability, revealing more than just skin.
