JORDAN SULLIVAN

Prints from An Island In the Moon

Jordan Sullivan's book An Island in the Moon has sold very well at photo-eye this year and we are thrilled to offer two original prints from the series.

Sullivan’s prints are typically made using various alternative photographic processes, but he has created special edition light jet prints just for photo-eye. Each print is in an edition of 3 each and is available exclusively through photo-eye for a two month time period.

Tina #12 (the darker print) is a 16″ x 24″ image and can be found on page 96 of Sullivan's book An Island In the Moon. In full-scale the image is reminiscent of Klimt's Sea Serpents series, as the model appears to drape down from the upper quarter of the print.

Mecenzie Blue is considerably smaller in size at 10″ x 15″. Mecenzie is the same model featured on the cover of An Island In the Moon in a cyanotype blue. The image is much lighter in tone than Tina #12, and Mecenzie appears to fade, dream-like, into a world of light. This image appears on page 102 of An Island In the Moon.

For more information or to purchase prints please email Christopher J Johnson or call 505-988-5152 ext. 113.

These toned silver-gelatin prints, each one from made from multiple exposures from several negatives, were hand-printed by Don Hong-Oai prior to his passing in 2004. All prints are either 11x14″ or 14x11″.

A percentage of each print sale will be donated to animal rescue organizations including Compassion Without Borders, Animal Legal Defense Fund and PAWS, among others, in memory of Don and his mentor and dealer Ruth Silverman.
