Richard Tuschman's Hopper Meditations installed at The Museum of Contemporary Art in Krakow, Poland |
Richard Tuschman
photo-eye Gallery is thrilled to share that represented artist Richard Tuschman has 11 works from his Hopper Meditations series in the group exhibition Art in Art, currently on view at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Krakow, Poland (MOCAK). Each of Tuschman's 11 prints are presented in their 60 x 40" editions – truly showcasing his photographs on a painting scale. Art in Art is installed at the museum through October 21st, 2017.
"Art is there to provide reflection and both stimulate and provide depth to our critical perception of everything that existence entails. Such is the role of art, and this is the kind of art that MOCAK endeavors to show in all its activities. But art also has another, more ‘arty’ face – as one big conglomeration of familiar images of acclaimed pedigree, works with their own idiosyncratic context, in which they have thrilled and enraptured many." – MOCAK Statement

Linda Connor
Represented Artist Linda Connor's Solo Exhibition Many Years at the Kandu Museum of Fine Arts in Taipei, Taiwan |
The Kandu Museum of Fine Arts in Taipei, Taiwan is currently showing a gorgeous retrospective of represented artist Linda Connor's work regarding the Sacred titled Many Years: The Photography of Linda Connor.
"[Connor's] photographs depict the relationship between the culturally sacred and natural world while illuminating her connection to and deep respect for her subjects. With her large format camera, Connor travels extensively, exploring sites that evoke mystery and spirit. These explorations of ancient and sacred locales reflect her interest in how diverse cultures manifest the holy." – Tsungwoo Han, Curator, Kandu Museum of Fine Arts
"Even if you’re a staunch non-believer of the supernatural, Linda Connor’s haunting black-and-white photographs may have you questioning your beliefs. A sampling of the American photographer’s work taken from around the world over many decades are on display at Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts. Many Years: The Photography of Linda Connor looks at the importance that different cultures attach to spirituality and ghosts. Connor photographs sacred and historic sites from Thailand to Peru, documenting religious rites and rituals, as well as everyday life. Even if these places aren’t haunted, her photographs look like they are from a different era, exuding an eerie but also awe-inspiring feeling of time standing still." – Dana Ter, Taipei Times
