Artist Update

Untitled -- Carla van de Puttelaar
An exhibition of work by Carla van de Puttelaar entitled Ode to the Skin is on view at Box Galerie in Brussels, Belgium through November 10th. This is the first of three shows of van de Puttelaar's work, The Sculptural Skin opens at Museum Beelden san Zee in The Hague, Netherlands on October 5th running through January 20th. Also in the Netherlands, van de Puttelaar's work is featured in a group exhibition titled Short Stories of Silence on view through December 1st at Espace Enny in Laag-Keppel.

"To me beauty is a very personal thing. All the small expressions, marks and thoughts that somebody has, make beauty into something individual and create attractions for others. What surprises me a lot is that in magazines and books people always try to homogenize beauty, as if there is only one kind of beauty, the only thing that you can highly admire." -- Carla van de Puttelaar from the interview for photo-eye Blog. van de Puttelaar's Cranach series was released as a limited edition portfolio from photo-eye Editions, which can be viewed here. See her Cranach Series and Galateas portfolios here.

House of Atlas, 2012 -- Grace Weston

Photographer's Showcase artist Grace Weston's work will soon be on display in Italy at Paci Contemporary in Brescia, Italy. Opening on September 29th, the show runs through November 20th. We've also just added four new images to Weston's portfolio, which can be seen here.

"Despite having no people in my images, my subject matter is the human psyche. My work tends to reflect my observations of the contradictory and curious world of human beings. I find it is our foibles that make us an interesting, odd, humorous species, and there is endless inspiration for imagery." -- Grace Weston from the interview for photo-eye Blog.
