Photographer's Showcase artist Ryann Ford and her Rest Stop images have been featured in a number of places recently, including a piece on the Fast Company blog and interviews on The Atlantic and on Word of Mouth from New Hampshire Public Radio, which can be listened to here. Ford's Rest Stop series documents a dying tradition of the American highway -- picnic tables and their at times festive coverings that used to dot the roadsides. Rania Matar's L'Enfant-Femme series is currently on exhibit at Carroll and Sons Art Gallery in Boston, open through October 26th. Matar's work is also currently on view as part of the She Who Tells a Story: Women Photographers From Iran and The Arab World exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. On view through January 12, 2014, the exhibit features photographic work from a number of Arab and Persian female photographers who challenge perceptions of the Middle East through their art. Mitch Dobrowner's Storms series was recently featured on Wired.com in an article by Jackob Schiller. In it Dobrowner talks about what it takes to shoot these massive storms and watching them mature from a small cluster of clouds to an enormous mature storm and then slowly lose their power and fade away. You can read the article here. Dobrowner's work is currently on view at photo-eye Gallery in Santa Fe, but the show will be closing soon on September 20th.
